Checklist for Lengthening Your Life |

We hear it everyday. Until we implement methods our lifespan will not improve. The bottom line is:
- Eat a balanced diet
- Don’t smoke
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Exercise regularly

Marital status may have some influence on your length of life, but definitely having a pet adds years of joy. Survival rates of heart attack patients who had a pet were almost one third higher, according to Public Health Reports in 1980. Having a pet to nurture plus the pet’s unconditional affection for its master brings health benefits.

People who are careful to observe who and what is happening around them have fewer accidents, thus live longer. Scoping out the area when walking or driving brings better reaction results even when others are careless. Be careful to look around even when the light is green for your own protection. Be aware of others and their actions to keep yourself and them safe.

Having a good attitude will make you happier and influence those around you. Pleasant surroundings and relationships boost the endorphins and create an atmosphere of lessened stress. Although not a proven fact, doctors notice improved physical health in people who strive to think the best of themselves and others.

Scripture stresses the importance of relaxing and relying on God. Knowing Who is in control brings peace of mind and body that works beyond our comprehension for well-being. “A cheerful heart is good medicine” Proverbs 17:22 NIV
